When the ’90s are calling loud and you don’t scream back, you’re really lagging behind. I absolutely love how the current Spring Summer is screaming ’90s in every way. From off shoulder blouses to matching sets and now chokers! Could we get any more retro?!
I’m a huge fan off the off shoulder trend, so bias to it that all my recent buys seem to be the same now. I also love how the matching sets are still swinging till 2016. I had done some looks last year (you can check them out here & here). A matching top and bottom just makes you looks so classy and ladylike, a style I adore! And chokers are everything these days.. From Kim Kardashian to Katy Perry, you will see everyone choking on this trend religiously. The styling trick lies in what you team with the choker, wear something that will expose your neck instead and the area around it. Also it doesn’t have to be black, a metallic one is the best accessory for a night out!
If you really want to incorporate the ’90s into your wardrobe, there’s no better time. Pick a matching set, preferably a top with an off shoulder and add a choker, round sunnies, rock a red lip and you’re good to go! You can even make your own choker. Grab a velvet ribbon, measure it around your neck, use embellishments or stones and then just tie a knot behind.. Voila! You just turned your simple outfit into a stunner..
For this look, I chose a matching top and skirt (yes, its not a dress!). I instantly fell in love with this boho printed top and couldn’t think of any better way to style it. A classic choker (bought it last year for a music festival) and my favourite Stella bag to add a chic touch.
The desire to hold on to yesteryear is a thing now-a-days. Leave a comment below or use the #MHL90 to let me know what ’90s trend you are embracing!
