We all know how difficult it is to pick a hotel in any of the European cities. There are a zillion aspects to keep in mind so that your vacation is perfect. I’m sure your aware that Rome is a timeless capsule of history spread over ancient catacombs and cathedrals making it an exhilarating spectacle. Time is surely an illusion here but in this grand exhibit of art and architecture you need a hotel that aptly fits your fleeting personality. For this trip I chose to try out the Boscolo Roma Exedra Autograph Collection and here’s every little detail about it.
Boscolo Exedra Roma is a part of the Boscolo brand, an exclusive collection of luxury hotels that provides unique and intimately designed properties all across Europe. It has partnered with Marriott’s Autograph collection offering premium boutique hotels that ooze cultural significance and grandeur in design. This five star luxury property is housed in a neoclassical 18th century palace creating the perfect blend of luxury and tradition.
Location:
Located in the heart of  the city centre, the luxurious Boscolo Exedra Roma blends the past with nuanced modern tales and overlooks the busy Piazza Della Repubblica. The hotel is centrally located and is a 5-minute walk from Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the metro station. All the other popular attractions are at a distance of 1 to 1.5km.
Interiors:
The interiors are a spellbinding articulation of the yesteryear with a luxurious contemporary twist. The ambience is very refined where the chaos of the outside world has to knock twice before entering your tranquil realm. You will be welcomed by a red carpet grand entrance and two rotating metal doors which leads up to a cream coloured lobby that showcases grandeur in every way. Wall carvings and moulding, peony centerpieces, tasteful antiques warm golden lights and a classic piano form the lobby seating area. You definitely cannot miss the giant metallic gold elevators that add to the opulence. The lobby level also has some shopping options for all the guests. With vintage red carpets spread across the floors and intricate golden detailing carved on the wall this property is a perfect blend of style, art and history.
Boscolo Roma surely shows a dazzling fascination with the past. It tells the story of  the “Thermae Diocletani”, some of the most famous and elegant baths of the past displaying the marvellous evidence from the excavation such as the pool in the Diocletian Hall. A glimpse of this can be seen in the basement of the hotel and is open to all guests.
Room: The Classic Guestroom
The rooms here exude elegance with every squarefeet. The furnishings in our room were draped in neo classical fashion with harmonious hues of beige caressing our serenity. Detailed carving and heavily stained wood were a predominant sight. The marble bathroom with its every infinitesimal detail being cushioned by elegance added to the charm of our stay. It featured a sink, a shower area, Boscolo marked bathrobes and cool Etro toiletries.
In terms of size, the room was perfect as per the European standards, not too big but spacious enough to accommodate everything. This category of the room had the view of the backyard of the hotel overlooking tiny coloured structures.
Overview and Amenities: The hotel has 238 rooms, 2 restaurants, a panoramic terrace, 24 hour room service, spa, business centre, free WIFI and the rooms are equipped with a large flatscreen, fully stocked minibar, lockers, hairdryer, tea and coffee arrangements.

 Â
The Restaurants:
Boscolo Roma boasts a plethora of restaurants like the Lobby Bar, the Tazio Champagne Bar, the Post Bar & Restaurant, the Tazio Gallery Bar & Restaurant and the La Frusta Breakfast Room. All these spaces were so majestic and creative when it came to both satisfying the palates as well as providing a blissful ambience.
Our daily breakfast was served at La Frusta. Their buffet comprised of a selection of breads, cheeses, fruits, croissants and pastries, delicious cakes and pies, cold cuts, meat, jams and everything continental. Omlettes and hot items need to be paid for separately. To be honest I was not a big fan of the breakfast, I would suggest you to skip the hotel buffet and grab eggs and coffee from Eately nearby.
 Â
The Rooftop:
As the sun sets over this perennial city, an enchanting romance begins to unravel itself in the posh terrace nestled by the pool at Exedra. This part of the hotel is open to the public during summer. The rooftop restaurant and pool are famous for their fabulous sundown sessions. I can only imagine the joy of floating on the top of the city. Unfortunately the pool was closed in February so I couldn’t experience this but it looked so beautiful.

Service:
Nothing beats warm welcomes and smiling faces. Out guest relation manager Philip made the check in and check out process seem like a breeze. The entire staff in the entire hotel was warm and kind. The concierge was extremely amazing with their suggestions and helped us plan all our days really well.
What I loved the most:
-It’s a 7 minute walk from the metro and the train station making it convenient to go anywhere.
– All the main attractions are at a walking distance from the hotel. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon are at a distance of 1.5kms approx around 20 mins.
– During summer the rooftop would make a great spot for an Italian sundown party.
– Sharing walls is also a movie theatre and an Italian maket café called Eately. Incase you plan to skip breakfast at the hotel you have tons of choices right outside. I loved their eggs with cheese and coffee.
Note:
The rooftop is not functional during winter so please check with the hotel before booking.

Overall IÂ felt like I have been teleported into a different age where time stands still and beauty is a thing of heart. The aura of the Boscolo Roma blends effortlessly with the classical soul of Rome yet it stands for itself with its contemporary spirit.
