This beautiful café is conveniently nestled on the first floor of Jumeirah Beach Road’s busiest street (the lane ends into kite beach) making it the perfect hangout. This is a chilled spot that offers a fresh take on healthy eating.
Name:Â The Surf Cafe
Location:Â Jumeirah Beach Road
Cuisine:Â Cafe/Seafood/Sushi
Ideal for:Â Breakfast
What I ordered:
-The Café Breakfast: Choice of 2 eggs poached/ scrambled/ fried along with toasted rye bread, Dutch veal bacon, fresh chicken sausage, Portobello garlic mushroom, hash brown, cherry tomatoes on the vine and a glass of fresh juice. This platter is perfect and good enough for one hungry person. (Dhs80)
– Eggs benedict: A classic breakfast dish! English muffins with poached eggs, fresh spinach, veal bacon and Hollaindaise sauce. It was one of the best I’ve tried in the city! (Dhs45)
-The Pancakes: These two gluten free pancakes reduce your guilt by a great amount. I changed my topping to berries and also asked for some additional nutella, trust me its delicious and worth trying. (Dhs35)
-Dragon maki roll: Prawn tempura with Japanese mayonnaise, avocado and cucumber. It was good but the tempura wasn’t crisp as it should be. (Dhs45)
-Rib Eye: 300gms of Australian Rib Eye with chimichurri sauce and fries. Our server suggested the sauce but it wasn’t the best combination with the steak. A classic pepper sauce would have been the better. (Dhs90)
– Garlic Prawns: Pan seared prawns cooked in Olive Oil, garlic, parsley and lemon juice. It was more like prawns in a garlic butter sauce, a dish you could miss or try it if you’re in the mood for Mediterranean style prawns. (Dhs90)
-Goat Cheese & Rocket Salad: This was one of the best versions of the goat cheese salad I’ve tried in Dubai. The fresh figs and honey vinaigrette add an interesting twist to this dish. A must try! It was a part of the Chefs Special menu. (Dhs50)
-We tried these two juices and they were so fresh and tasty.
Super Orange: Fresh orange, apple, goji berry and pumpkin seeds
Fresh and Frozen: Fresh Orange, banana, strawberry, acai berry.
My experience:
-The breakfast dishes, goat cheese salad and gluten free pancakes are an absolute must try!
-Totally digging the new breakfast places in Dubai currently and this one is the latest addition to my list.
-I personally preferred their breakfast menu over lunch. The breakfast dishes were on point and so delicious. There are a lot of vegetarian options too.
-The place was buzzing even on a weekday, expect a lot of tourists and beach goers. It is a totally casual place with a surfer theme where you can turn up in your boardshorts and fit flops. Love the casual vibe and the amazing french windows with natural sunlight coming in.
– Most of the meals served here are quite healthy, as the meat and fish is either steamed or grilled and they also have a variety of salads and eggs.
– Their sea food is fresh and is kept on display which makes it easier to choose. Also they have a sushi bar near the entrance.
Service:Â The staff is friendly and they know everything about the dishes.
Bill: Amount mentioned next to the dishes ordered.

The next time I visit this place, I would love to try their famous Acai Bowl
